Show Notes from this episode

Dr. Berlow is a psychiatrist in a California private practice. Born in Wisconsin, graduated from Columbia (P&S) Medical School, trained: two years in neurosurgery, three years psychiatry and a two-year fellowship in Mood Disorders. After 23 years of practicing and teaching psychopharmacology he added procedural diagnosis and treatment including brain stimulation. Initial visit includes HRV, GSR and EEG. Multilayered treatment including 1) psychotherapy, 2) psychopharmacology, 3) Magnetic stimulation: rTMS, TBS, accelerated, deep TMS. 4) Electric stimulation: tDCS, tACS, Trigeminal and tVNS (Transcutaneous Vagus Nerve Stimulation),and  5) Intravenous and psychedelic therapy (ketamine etc).  By teaching and training workshops he has shared his experience with hundreds of psychiatrists & neurologists in person and online. His areas of interest include numeric nosology, the relationship between brain and mind, EEG-TMS - how to predict and personalize treatment (including microstate cortical topographic analysis) and translating new science to helping people.
